Hepburn was a pioneering pastoralist of Smeaton, Blampied and Daylesford areas in Victoria and is buried in a small family cemetery nearby. Eliza and John Hepburn were the grandparents of May Ina Hepburn, born in 1882, who married Norman Macgeorge, painter, art educator and art reviewer, in January 1911.
