Each packet may contain any or all of the following documents: proposals, friends reports, health evidence, proof of age, roof of ownership, proof of death, assignments, policy, statutory declarations or other correspondence pertaining to issue of policies and settlement of the claims. Claim No.41 in the first mentioned group. Also this claim resulted from a drowning when the 'S.S. Dandenong' broke up on voyage from Melbourne to Sydney. Although these claims have been classed as Head Office it should be remember that the Head Office handled all Victorian matters until 1938 when the Victoria Branch was established.
