This series consists of correspondence between NMLS and Lamson Engineering Aust Pty Ltd concerning the installation and usage of the Lamson tube system. The system operates between all National Mutual Centre, training sessions were held to instruct certain staff on how the system operated. Basically two different sized cylinders were used, the smaller one, which had an opening on the side, was for sole use to and from cashiers. The larger one which opened on the end had a floor indicator on the barrel and was for general use. The item for despatch would be placed in the cylinder, the cap screwed down and the indicator marked for the floor of destination. The cylinder is then placed in the tube and is conveyed via the central station to cashiers. The cashiers would place the cylinder in the correct floor inlet.
