3. 1977 research relating to Poor Law Schools, Reformatory and Industrial Schools 1896-1898, and Miss Sutherland’s arrival in NZ 1865, and subsequent visit to the UK 1896/1897. Comprises handwritten notes, copies of publications including clippings from the newspaper ‘The Witness’ 1843 & 1860, includes NZ newspaper cuttings relating to ‘Wellington Hospital and other charitable organisations’.
4. File title: ‘Social Work in a Changing World’, by Roger C. Wilson, Director, Department of Social Studies, and University College of Hull. File contains a copy of the opening address given by Hull at the British National Conference of Social Work held at Harrogate, and a 1958 copy of ‘Natural Science and Social Science’, published by Liverpool University Press.
5. File Title: Victorian Ladies Benevolent Societies. File contains ‘1845-1945 Women Who Helped Pioneers’ booklet, printed by “Truth” & “Sportsman” Ltd., Melbourne, University of Melbourne questionnaires about the Melbourne Ladies’ Benevolent Society’s history, and correspondence.
6. Envelope: contains photographs and negatives of Sulina Sutherland. Negatives reproduced by University of Melbourne 1968. Four of the images are reproductions of Christmas Eve 1908, and the Sutherland Home, Drummond St Carlton.
