Re: Requesting you to ask Mr. Bright his reasons for retaining the monies recovered from the owner of the Privateers for my account. (Reply on the back) Bright Baillie & Bright return the letter from Mr. Brazier to Mr. Tobin replying that their reason for not complying with Mr. Brazier's request is that they are convinced that he has no claim upon them, in law or equity, for any further payment on account of his loss of the ship Merlin, or any of the consequences of his capture and detention in France.
