Speakers, presenters and reports include: Miss Shaw reported on a refusual to admit children from the United Aborigines Home at Oodnadatta to the State School; Miss Alice Hann on the history of the Lockhart River Mission; Discussion of bringing "part-white" children down from the Northern Territory to Missions in the capital cities [stolen generation]
News of note: passing of Mrs Mackenzie; Yandeyarra and Ailsa Downs are to be held as Native Reserves; Weipa Mission area being mined for bauxite, causing increased "white contacts". Annual Report includes 'Notes from all States' which summarises interstate developments and activities with Aboriginal Australians and Missions. Accompanied by a typed letter, dated 13 June 1957, addressed to Mr Wood, the principal of the Methodist Ladies' College. The letter thanks the girls of M.L.C. for the donation of 18.16 [pounds] for the Warburton Ranges Mission, to be used for educational purposes and relief.
