The family moved to Melbourne in the late 1880s, where one son became the proprietor of the trade journal 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. The collection consists of family photographs and photographs used to illustrate 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. This photo shows a view of a Pioneer Bus, No.3, parked beside Shell petrol bowsers, with a town in the distance at left. A note on the verso of the image describes this as a 30 passenger bus with a Reo chassis. The front of the bus shows that it ran to North Cottesloe. Signage above the passenger windows describes the route, ending at Nth Cottesloe and Cottesloe Jetty. The building in the background is a Motor Body Works, but the company name can't be made out.
Inscription: Handwritten in ink on verso "30-passenger Bus /o (?) Reo Chassis. Also pencilled here in different hand "North Cottesloe on front of bus."
