The family moved to Melbourne in the late 1880s, where one son became the proprietor of the trade journal 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. The collection consists of family photographs and photographs used to illustrate 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. This photograph shows the side view of a charabance/bus, parked outside gardens. Written on the side of the bus is: "Nicholson's Motor Bus Service. Leaves Wanganui 7.15 a.m., arrive Palmerston 9.30 a.m. Leaves Palmerston 4.15 p.m. arrive Wanganui 6.30 p.m. Wanganui-Palmerston fare 10/-".
