The inscription on the postcard was written on Nov. 22, 1913. The writer was sailing aboard the S.S. "Croxteth Hall", and comments include: "..we are sailing for Delagon Bay with a full cargo. I only had one night and one afternoon in Melbourne but hope to see you on our return in February. Cape Town is our last port, except we go back to Durban for bunkers. I hope you will all have a jolly holiday. We shall be in Durban or East London Xmas Day!" The card was printed in Great Britain, and published by The Valentine & Sons' Publishing Co. Ltd., Melbourne.
