The family moved to Melbourne in the late 1880s, where one son became the proprietor of the trade journal 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. The collection consists of family photographs and photographs used to illustrate 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. This photograph shows a coach drawn by four horses, with passengers waving flags outside a house. Written on verso is: "Frank Smiley. Mafeking Relief Celebrations at Lilydale, Victoria. 1900. The American Type Jack Coach and 4 greys were regularly used at this point for mail and passenger services in many parts of the state. Return to A. Bishop."
