The family moved to Melbourne in the late 1880s, where one son became the proprietor of the trade journal 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. The collection consists of family photographs and photographs used to illustrate 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. This photograph comes from a family album of souvenir photographs taken during the celebration of Australian Federation in 1901. Many were taken in Sydney. This image shows a ferry, possibly the New Era on Sydney Harbour.
