The trees in the background have been hand-tinted in green. This postcard was sent to Miss Bishop in 1905 or 1908, and the inscription on the back includes the comment 'What do you think of this view - looks like "The deserted Village" In today's (local paper?) there is a great account of new reefs being found near Jack. So perhaps it will make things a bit brisker'. Inscription: Lengthy ink inscription on verso. Addressed to Miss Bishop, Baarmutha, Bambra Rd, Caulfield. Postmark and postage stamp on verso.
