Accession[1965.0017] Papers of Joseph Bishop and familyPart of Item[Beechworth postcard album]Position in Sequencepage 9IdentifierUMA-ITE-1965001700232Extentnot specifiedScope and ContentThis photo shows goats standing in the snow on a slope in Stanley. A timber church building is on top of the hill behind a picket fence. This card was sent to Louise in July 1908. Sender's comments include: "What do you think of this scene? It is a Stanley one. Don't you pity the poor goats? I'm sure they do not admire the snow as it means they have to go hungry. .. We want Fred to go down to the 'Fleet Celebrations' but he is such a stick-at-home that we are not sure if he will go. Mother thinks that the only place she would like to see them would be coming through 'The Heads' at Pt. Lonsdale or Queenscliff." Inscription: Lengthy ink inscription on verso. Addressed to Miss Bishop, Baarmutha, Bambra Rd, Caulfield. Postmark and postage stamp on verso. The front of the card says "Stanley".Access StatusOpen for public accessRequest TypeRequest itemCopyright StatusPublic domainConditions of Use and ReproductionThis item is out of copyright.
