The family moved to Melbourne in the late 1880s, where one son became the proprietor of the trade journal 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. The collection consists of family photographs and photographs used to illustrate 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. This image belongs to a collection of photos of scenes in Egypt, in a blue envelope marked "Photos from Dave in Egypt". Dave was probably a member of the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) which participated in the First World War. This collection consists of twenty-three photos showing troops, scenes of war and Egyptian people. The subjects are identified on the verso of the photos. These photos were taken in 1914-1915. This individual photo appears to show a camp, populated by many tents and horses, with an Egyptian pyramid in the background.
