The family moved to Melbourne in the late 1880s, where one son became the proprietor of the trade journal 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. The collection consists of family photographs and photographs used to illustrate 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'. Photograph shows a work group of 15 men standing and sitting beside a motor car body. Also picture is a treddle sewing machine (possible a Singer). This photograph was most likely originally used as an illustration for 'The Australasian Coachbuilder and Saddler'.
Inscription: On verso in pencil and ink are some measurements in preparation for printing: "3 3/4 across" and "Reduce 12" to 5 3/4".
