These missionaries visited houses in many parts of Melbourne, writing in their diaries on the condition, temporal and spiritual, of the residents. Many of the journals were inspected and signed by a Mission supervisor and often contain statistics on the number of visits and tracts distributed and details of the houses visited, including notes on the inhabitants and their religious denomination.
