Accession[2013.0008] Papers of Irving David SaulwickIdentifierUMA-ITE-2013000800027Scope and ContentSAUL00027 Imposed title. Loose newsclippings housed in a manila folder with no clear title. An inscribed title 'Report for Theory of Structure 1 Laboratory Experiment No 2' appears on the rear inside cover: this has no obvious relation to the folder contents.
Due to the large volume of material, clippings have been housed across two inventory items, SAUL00027 and SAUL00028, to ensure their preservation. The manila folder is retained in SAUL00027. The bulk of articles in Part 1 date from between January 1994 and February 1995, with one journal article published July 1984 and a small number of undated articles.
Contains clippings, photocopies and faxed copies of articles written by Irving Saulwick and others, published in newspapers and magazines including: The Age; The Sydney Morning Herald; Australian Jewish News; The Waverley Gazette; and The Bulletin. Most articles report the results of specific Saulwick polls. Also includes material relating to polling more generally, and to some of Irving Saulwick's other survey research activities (for example, a visit to Mount Waverley Secondary College to gather student responses toward a booklet produced by the Constitutional Centenery Foundation [CCF], 'Now You're 18 You Have the Power').
Also includes the following articles from non-newspaper sources: Derek Parker 'The Pollsters, the Pundits and the Politics of Fear' published in IPA Review Vol 46, No 1, 1993; [unattributed] 'The Opinionologists' The Bulletin March 2, 1993; Murray Goot, 'Capital Gains, Electoral Losses?' CAB vol 61, No 2, July 1984; Murray Goot 'Public Opinion and the Public Opinion Polls' (unpublished, undated version, with covering note from Murray Goot indicating forthcoming publication details).Access StatusOpen for public accessRequest TypeRequest unitUnit2013.0008 Unit 0004
