Inside the Tudor bonnet there is a sewn in black label with silver letters '[Royal Insignia] By Appointment To / H.M. Queen Elizabeth Ii / Robemakers / Ede & Ravenscroft / Ltd / 93 Chancery Lane / London, WC2A 1DU'. A blue and white sticker has been placed over part of the label which is inscribed with "7 1/8 58".
There are three parts to this object the academic gown (021.1), the hood (021.2) and the Tudor bonnet (021.3). Founded in 1689, Ede & Ravenscroft have provided robes to universities, churches and the legal profession for over three hundred years.
