Some of the bibliographies were compiled for or by the ACC or the Australian Constitutional Convention Council; others were produced by outside bodies or individuals and collected by Convention officers to place on their files or add to the ACC library.

The series also contains research notes and miscellaneous historical and contemporary reference material (including copies of the Australian Constitution).

The date ranges given for this series are approximate only, as the contents of the bibliographies span various decades from the nineteenth century onwards, and it is difficult to determine precisely when all this information was collected and compiled by the ACC.
