I stayed with Margaret Mitchell for a few days in Harrogate; she is Eddie Denton's partner. She took me walking in Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales, frames 4a-15a, pp62-65
On our way I stopped to talk to the women at the Womyn's Peace Camp, Menwith Hill, Yorkshire. Margaret, who is terribly conservative, was horrified at the thought of stopping there! I struck a chord with the women when I told them that I had protested at Nurrungar in South Australia. Menwith Hill is the biggest U.S. intelligence-gathering base outside the U.S. frames 3a, 15a-18a, pp66-67.

stowing bales of hay for Catherine's ponies, frames 22a-25a, pp68-69.
Barge tour along the Leeds Canal to the Armoury, recently moved from the Tower of London. As I wasn't interested in their bloody arms I got off at Tetley's brewery museum and saw a far better spectacle of draught horses, old pubs, etc., frames 26a-27a, p70.
While waiting for the barge to leave I finally got to hear a British brass band. I picked out a young cornet player and transported myself back some fifty years (I would have been 17) to those halcyon days in the South Melbourne City brass band, 28a-29a, pp70-71.
