Re Professors' Nanson and McCoy acting as "Officers-in-Charge" at the matriculation examination. (annotated in blue crayon)
Dr. T.P. McInerney protests that he was not paid the correct fees for acting as "Officer-in-Charge" at the recent matriculation examination held at Hamilton.
The Chairman of Examination Board (b) explains why he is unable to provide information required by the Council for a meeting on 6.3.1882.
The Chairman of the General Board of Examiners explains why there has been a delay in publishing the results of the matriculation examination held in December 1881.
A form letter sent to each matriculation examiner requesting him to state whether the time allowed by the regulations for providing matriculation returns is sufficient. (acid action on the script)
Canon Serjeant states that when the number of matriculation papers to be marked exceeds 400, the time allowed by the existing Regulations is not sufficient.
Dr.F.S. Dobson, the examiner in French, states that the time allowed for examining the French matriculation papers in December is not sufficient. (annotated in blue crayon)
The Rev. Vance states that the time allowed for examining the Greek matriculation papers is sufficient.
Mr. Newbery states that the time allowed for examining the matriculation papers in Chemistry is sufficient.

Item 1 - Loose Document, 23.1.1882. A letter from Vice-Chancellor Brownless to the Editor of 'The Evening Mail' upbraiding him for not publishing the concluding and most important paragraph of his letter of 20 January regarding the delay in the publication of the matriculation results.
Item 2 - Loose document, 6.2.1881, 15.2.1882. Two letters from Dr. Elkington to the Council supported by newspaper clippings from 'The Evening Mail'. He complains about conduct of Dr. Morrison for supplying the paper with certain information injurious to him as a Professor and asks the Council to intervene.
