There is an 8 page handwritten index at the beginning of the file which identifies 260 items, lists the correspondents, the date, the subject of the correspondence; the index also lists the subject file to which some items have been transferred. All items are numbered. Subjects include visits, conferences and seminars, divisional matters, citations, awards and fellowships, associations, journals and publications, privatisation of laboratories, queries regarding membership, overseas qualifications and employment.
