Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsPublicationHistoryIn 1877, the Melbourne publisher, M'Carron, Bird & Co., commenced publishing the Australasian Insurance and Banking Record as a periodical of news and advertising for the Australian and New Zealand banking and insurance industries. Editions conveyed information about banking policy, reports and balance sheets, the results of financial investigations, insurance events such as fires and maritime disasters; as well as advertising. The Record was apparently published in two versions at some stage, one illustrated and one not. Vol.1, No.1 of this publication appeared in January 1877. The periodical continued under its present name until Vol.99, 1976 when the banks withdrew their financial support. Its name was then changed to The Insurance Record of Australia and New Zealand.
