It has subsequently become involved with the treatment of Australian veterans of the war and the health, education and welfare of Vietnamese refugees in Australia. The Society still functions and it has successfully influenced the policies of the Labor Government on Vietnam in the 1980s and 1990s seeing most of its recommendations adopted.
