For thirteen months he was imprisoned in Khanchanaburi camp near Moulmein, Burma. Manning sent lettercards from various POW camps of indeterminate location in Burma and Thailand during the War and was able to obtain photographs of Khanchanaburi Camp, the Thai-Burma Railway and villages.
