Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsTrade UnionsHistoryThis small union grew from the Amalgamated Glass Bottle- makers Union, which had formed before the turn of the century. It changed to its current name in 1918. Demand for indigenous glass making capacity during WW1 saw to its consolidation. Many of its members worked at the Australian Glass Manufacturers in Spotswood, and after WWII many European migrants entered the industry.
