The minutes are bound with those of the Faculty of Arts Committee on Visiting Scholars. The working group was established in response to the pending acquisition of a new computerised student record keeping system. Set up by the Committee of Chairmen of Departments, its Terms of Reference required it to examine the record keeping needs of the faculty, primarily with regard to student selection, enrolments, subject changes, exams and academic leave. The first meeting was conducted on 8th August 1974. In addition to reporting on the requirements for the computer record system, the committee concerned itself with the question of how to educate staff in the use of the new system, including establishing and communicating procedures to staff. At the final meeting,on 22nd October 1974, the working group endorsed the report drafted by Mr Olle, and recommended it to the Committee of Chairmen of departments.
