Birtley as president and secretary respectively, the Society decided at the A.G.M. of 1972 to change its executive, discontinue its affiliation with the Union as freeing itself from restrictions, and change its name to "Christian Anarchists". The new president was P. Gardiner; the new secretary/treasurer, J.F. Anderson. Its newssheet denounced the Left, Jews, etc.
