Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsEngineers, electricalHistoryHenry and Edward Noyes, already in partnership as agents for the Wolverhampton Corrugated Iron Co., and other firms, emigrated in 1888 and 1890 respectively, Henry settling in Melbourne; Edward in Sydney. Trading as import agents and engineering consultants, in 1907 they formed two separate but associated commpanies, dividing the territory between them. When Edward died in 1920, Parkingson Ltd. bought large shareholding and in 1946 Crompton Parkinson Ltd. bought the remainder; after Henry's death in 1922 Trustees supervised the Melbourne company until 1936 when it became public. The two entities joined as Noyes (Australia) Pty. Ltd. in 1954. (See E.M. Noyes' history).
