Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsPublicationHistoryThe first issue of OZ edited by Richard Neville, Martin Sharp and Richard Walsh was published in April 1963 and became famous for its political satire and the accusations that OZ was an obscene publication. In the mid 1960s, Neville and Sharpe left for England, where they commenced the equally controversial London OZ and endured an infamous Court Case defending obscenity charges. Australian OZ began an association with the producer Jim Sharman and presented ON STAGE OZ. With the departure of Neville and Sharpe, a more serious tone was injected into the magazine. By the late 1960s, circulation began to drop and the last issue of Australian OZ was published in February 1969.
