Agent TypePersonHistoryMurielle Crawford was born in c.1885 and died in 1969. Employed at Rothwells Ltd as a shirt-maker in West End, South Brisbane, Miss Crawford corresponded with her sweetheart, Frederick Kitching of the 49th Battalion "somewhere in France". They had met in 1909 when he emigrated from Burneston, Yorkshire to Queensland for health reasons. Kitching worked as a labourer in Murgon, a town in the Burnett district given to dairy farming and timber cutting. Until Kitching's death in February 1918 from an inflamed kidney, Murielle and Fred corresponded vigerously. Murielle also corresponded with Kitching's family in Burneston, Yorkshire. After Fred's death, Murielle retained a solid interest in military affairs.
