This metal plate in this printing block would have been cast from a papier-mache or plaster mould (called a flong). The plate features an image of a child and man, and its principle text reads: "Maximum protection when your responsibilities are greatest! National Mutual's new Table U 60 Low Cost Unit Plan". The plate lists some benefits of this new life insurance product, and is aimed at fathers aged 28 and upwards.
