Agent TypePersonActivities & OccupationsFarmersHistoryDicker was born at Alberton, South Gippsland in 1903, eighth child of Henry Dicker, foreman of a railway gang and Mary Ann Dicker. He left home in his mid-teens to work for a farm in Natimuk, at 18 losing his left hand working on a chaff cutter. On recovery he managed a dairy farm at Wollert, worked on his brother's farm near Nagambie, and in the early 1940s bought a farm at Stewarton, and married schoolteacher Dorothy Cole in 1943. He retired in 1974 in Nagambie, where he died in 1981 and where his widow remained until her death in January 1996. (Notes supplied by Miss J. Hillard).
