Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsRoyal CommissionHistoryThe Royal Commission was appointed by the Victorian Government in February 1902, following the discovery of embezzlement by the University's accountant, F.J. Dickson, of its securities. The President of the Royal Commission was Theodore Fink who had the previous year chaired the Royal Commission on Technical Education. A progress report was presented in July 1902; the final report in May 1904, contained recommendations ranging from improvements to courses already taught and the introduction of new ones. Courses in education, agriculture, veterinary and dental science were among those to be introduced in the ensuing years. Other recommendations were for the elimination of debt and an increased enrolment.
