He took the licences for the Mount Boninyong run in 1840 and the Warracknabeal run in November 1845. His sons Robert and Andrew were admitted to partnership at Mount Boninyong in January 1847. They continued in partnership following his death in 1853. Both stations were sub-divided. In March 1870. Robert took Warracknabeal East and Andrew Junior took Warracknabeal West. The licences for these runs were relinquished in 1883. The runs were thrown open to selection. The Scott brothers sold their pre-emptives in 1887. Subsequent to relinquishing the Warracknabeal runs the Scott brothers sub-divided Mount Boninyong. The Portion known as Yuulong was taken by Andrew.
