Trained in photography at Sydney Tech, Scott travelled in Europe in 1978 before returning to Sydney and establishing a business in documentary photography. In addition to his own work, Scott printed the work of other photographers including Olive Cotton. In 2001 a retrospective volume of his work, Roger Scott: From The Street, was published by Chapter & Verse.
