The other objects for which the Federation was established included: the promotion of work of universities and to protect their independence and integrity, and to promote the rights, interests and welfare of the members of their staff; promote interchange of information; to help in industrial relations; to help in the creation of informed public debate; involvement in real estate and financial negotiations.
