Limited (TEP) was formed by Century Zinc (CZP) to manage the Rum Jungle uranium mining project which CZP was managing for Commonwealth Government in 1953. The operation diversified into the processing of ores from other sources in the vicinity including: White's ore body, Dyson's and Brown's deposit. In 1971, the Australian Atomic Energy Commission (AAEC) closed down the Rum Jungle mine and CRA's General Mining Division took over the residual affairs of TEP's operations.
