Agent TypePersonActivities & OccupationsHistoriansHistoryBill Trevena commenced his career as a surveyor in 1937 until he joined the AIF. After being demobilised in 1946 and under the Comm. Reconstruction Training Scheme, he started a civil engineering course at the University of Melbourne, which he did not complete. In 1951 Tevena secured a job with Natmap working in various drafting positions until he qualified as a licensed surveyor. He transferred to the Department of Interior in 1960 and worked in the Australian Survey Office. Closely associated with the Aust. Inst. of Cartographers, Trevena and Harold Beer were founders and co-editors of its journal "Cartography". After his retirement in 1984, Trevena gained his B.A. and Masters in history.
