He was a member of Faculty of Dental Science from 1908 until 1960, editor of the Australian Journal of Dentistry 1916-1956 and a member of the Council of the Australian College of Dentistry and of the Committee of Management of the Dental Hospital 1912-1960. He left private practice in 1934 to become Head of the Department of Dental Prosthetics at the Dental College, later becoming Acting Professor of Dental Prosthesis 1949-1952. Among his other professional activities were his presidency of the Australian Dental Association 1939-1941, and of the Victorian Branch in 1927 and 1939.
