After serving as a House Surgeon with the Dental Hospital of Melbourne he joined the Department of Dental Prosthetics first as a Demonstrator (1954-1956) progressing through the academic ranks from Lecturer (1957-1962), Senior Lecturer (1963-1983) to Reader/Associate Professor (1990-1996).
Active in professional affairs he was Editor of the Australian Dental Journal, 1985-1998 and Editor of the Annals of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (1985-2006) He was also President of the Australian Dental Association (Victorian Branch) in 1975 and President of both the Royal Australasian College of Dental Science and the Dental Board of Victoria, 1994-1996.
Harcourt was awarded a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials (FADM) 1983; Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) 1965; and Medal of the Order of Australia, 1995.Search records of this agent
