Paton, the Vice Chancellor of University of Melbourne. The possibility of rationalising library services and in particular the supply of medical periodicals had been frequently discussed. The C.M.L.O. proposed to investigate medical library practice; consolidate periodicals and housing in the Library; arrange for subscriptions; establish a regional system.
