Agent TypePersonActivities & OccupationsPolitical activistsHistoryInspired by the Women' Peace Movement in Northern Ireland led by Betty Wilmot and Mairead Corrigan, Bobbie Holmes formed a group of women subsequently named Women against Violence at the suggestion of Dame Phyllis Frost. Initiatives included the setting up of the Peace Studies Working Group, which absorbed the energy and resources of the group: the introduction of conflict resolution in the schools, and finally the production of "Building Bridges". The organization closed formally in 1996, after a few years without meeting.
