Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsUniversity committeeHistoryThe Medical School Library had existed from the opening of the School, but as it had not been well cared for, Council informed the Faculty in July 1879 that if no one were appointed to take care of the books these would be removed to the University Library. A medical student, James Booth, was appointed assistant librarian in 1880 to supervise the Medical Library and in 1887, after another attempt to transfer medical books to the University Library, the Council established its own Medical Library Committee.
