Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsUniversity committeeHistoryThe Research Awards Standing Committee was established on the recommendation of the Professorial Board with the purpose of dealing with matters associated with grants from general research funds. It held its first meeting on 29th July 1938. Issues discussed by the Committee included: research fund availability, approval of grants, evaluation of research proposals, research reports, Commonwealth research funding, major scholarships, travelling grants and accounting for research funds. The last documented meeting was held on 16th December 1942, although it is by no means apparent that the Committee came to an end at that date. The subsequent minutes of the Committee might be bound alongside those of the Professorial Board.
