It ceased to act with the appointment of the Teachers and Schools Board in 1906, pending a policy being adopted on inspection of Secondary Schools. Inspection of Secondary Schools (Annual Report March 1908). In 1912, Frank Tate, with support from Theodore Fink, J.W. Barrett, H. Hansen and others succeeded in having established a Board of School Studies, School Inspection and School Examinations known as The Schools Board, with representation from the Education Department, private schools and The University.
