Mrs Kath Williams, a member of the Liquor Trades Union, attended the Conference with financial assistance provided by a fundraising committee called together by the Union of Australian Women. The Union of Australian Women was affiliated to the Women's International Democratic Federation which assisted the World Federation of Trade Unions in calling the Conference.
