It was launched on 4 February 1985 and closed on 20 December 1985. It employed 2 co-ordinators, Fiona Moore and Noel Purdue; an Education Officer, Lyn Hughes; an Ethnic Liaison Officer, Franz Oswald; a Librarian, Sarah Brown;and support staff. TUIRC aimed to provide services for affiliates and to work with the Trades Hall and unions to raise the profile of trade unions in the community. While externally funded, TUIRC operated as an organisational unit of the VTHC and reported to a Steering Committee. TUIRC activities included writing and publishing the Trade Union Information Kit and other leaflets and posters; organising an project and many other activities; Archived files are noted by file title.
