The President of the Foundation is the Chief Justice of Victoria. The Board of the of the Foundation consists of key groups within the legal community: the President of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Chairman of the Victorian Bar Council, and representatives nominated by the Chief Justice, the Law Institute of Victoria and the Attorney-General. The Foundation has a broad legislative mandate to promote and undertake: community legal education and training; publishing and communication of legal information and ideas; legal education, training and development; the establishment and maintenance of law libraries; research to advance the law, the legal system and the administration of justice The Foundation is a model public benefit organization, raising community understanding and access to a better, fairer and more responsive justice system.
