Burne & Sons Pty Ltd. W.C. Burne was three-time president of the Master Builders' Association. The firm specialized in hospital construction, working with architects such as Stephenson & Turner. From 1953, under Lewis Burne, other family firms included hire and building-supplies subsidiaries. Lewis Burne also active in Master Builders Association (MBA), Victorian Employers Federation (VEF) and the International Labor Organisation as an employer representative.
